Devtank Ltd is an award-winning open source test & measurement company base in Mickleover, Derby. We design and build products such as our HILTOP, JigTOP, and OpenSmartMonitor, using open source hardware, software and data. OpenSmartMonitor is our brand of IoT sensors, built with the aim of decarbonising businesses and saving them money. Our first sensor, the ENV01, has multiple parameters it can monitor, all within the same box. The built-in parameters include; Temperature, Humidity, Sound, Light, and Air Quality. External connections will enable; Electricity, Gas, Water, and Machine Monitoring. These sensors use LoRaWAN to connect to the cloud and ultimately visual dashboards, this will require a LoRaWAN gateway. We use LoRaWAN because of it's initial strength and stability within harsh environments. Our dashboards are built using the open source solution from Grafana, which are easy to use and most importantly are browser based. Installations of our sensors have already found; water leaks, boilers coming on in the night, lights being left on, heating being left on over weekends, and machines not being as efficient as they should be.
